I have to take a minute and be a little serious. Most of you know I am a huge animal lover. I have four rescue cats of my own, I foster cats and kittens and have worked at two shelters. It's been difficult for me to put into words why I'm so passionate about animal welfare and (more importantly) to try and explain the enormity of the animal overpopulation issue.
I came across this video link on Petfinder where I occasionally peruse the boards. It's a bit disturbing, but it's something that everyone should see. It's similar to what I saw on a daily basis when I worked at ARL. This puts into pictures why I am committed to spay/neuter programs, to encouraging adoption rather than buying from a breeder, and why I believe that a pet is a forever commitment.
